As Üsküdar University, we act with the determination and purpose of conducting scientific studies in many fields and producing solutions. We believe in the importance of taking steps today so that the world may become a more livable place in the future.
We are of the opinion that approaching scientific facts not from a single perspective but from multiple perspectives in a multidisciplinary and holistic manner leads human beings to a much broader understanding.
In the recent past, studies on the brain and consciousness in neuroscience have led to the collapse of materialism. Spinoza’s error has been recognized. The thesis of intelligent design, which argues that the universe was designed by an external intelligence, has now gained scientific recognition and approval. Following the scientific developments in neuroscience and quantum particle physics, existence and spirituality have begun to fall within the boundaries of science. A transition has been made from a matter based understanding of the universe to one based on energy and abstract information. It has been accepted that everything is not merely matter. Instead, meaning and abstract knowledge precede it, followed by concrete knowledge and matter. In light of these developments, as science has put forward different theses, existence and creation began to be reanalyzed.
Since 2017, the subject of creation has also been addressed within the academic environment in Türkiye. Creation has now become a field of scientific study within universities. Creation has entered the laboratory of scientific research.
Within this framework, instead of explaining the realm of existence and events solely through a materialist and positivist approach, we consider it a realistic path to interpret and relate them to God with a holistic scientific perspective and through interdisciplinary research based on His names and attributes.
Among the primary aims of the International Congresses on Creation in the Light of Sciences are to raise awareness in the scientific community regarding creation, to contribute to the horizon of thought, and to present the truth of creation to scientists and younger generations with a new perspective in line with scientific data. This approach is centered on the fact that the universe and human beings are created.
We believe that these congresses have made and will continue to make significant contributions to studies in this field worldwide. In this context, we organized the 8th International Congress on Creation in the Light of Sciences at Üsküdar University on October 24 to 26, 2024.
We were honored and greatly pleased by the participation and scientific contributions of many distinguished scientists, researchers, thinkers, and writers from Türkiye and abroad regarding the scientific discussion of creation.
The congress was also deemed eligible for support by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye, Presidency of Scientist Support Programs, in accordance with the relevant regulations. We extend our sincere thanks to TÜBİTAK and BİDEB for their valuable support.
With the approval of the authors, 48 papers presented at the congress have been published in this Congress Proceedings Book. Among these papers, each addressing creation from different perspectives, 12 belong to the fields of Natural and Health Sciences, 10 to Social Sciences, 9 to Religious Studies, 8 to the evaluation of evolutionary theory, 2 to Education and Curriculum, and 2 to Artificial Intelligence.
In addition, at the end of the 8th International Congress on Creation in the Light of Sciences, the Congress Final Declaration, the Manifesto of Creation, and the Open Letter addressed to the scientific community and the public are also included in this book.
